Ancestral Activism

We are living in a truly transformational time on the planet... a time of challenge, but also great healing and opportunity.

I believe that our ancestors are walking with us in these times of change, guiding us to take a stand for what we love, care for, and believe in.

It’s vital that we remember that we are ancestors, too. We are part of a lineage, part of a collective.

We are an ancestor not only TO OUR family and kin, but ALSO to this beautiful planet.

What does it mean to be a good ancestor? To me this means healing the past and protecting the future. This is what I call Ancestral Activism.

Much of my work focuses on ancestral healing and reconnecting to our ancestral roots. What I also want you to know is that when you spend money on my courses and offerings, a percentage of revenue goes towards protecting our collective future and giving back to Mother Earth, with a strong focus on forest restoration and protection, and indigenous-led initiatives.

THE KUNTANAWA: AMAZON PROTECTION & RESTORATION

Earth’s remaining Primary Forests, including the Amazon, are irreplaceable. They are critical to saving biodiversity, mitigating climate change, ensuring planetary health, preventing zoonotic disease outbreaks and ensuring fresh-water supply.

Each and every day the Amazon is under threat and pressure from corporate interests. Indigenous front-line communities are critical in preserving and restoring the rainforest. The Kuntanawa people in Acre, Brazil have dedicated their lives to this mission, understanding that to protect the Amazon is to protect the future for all of us. HOMETREE: REFORESTATION IN Co. CLARE, IRELAND

Hometree is an Irish non-profit that carries out tree planting in West Co. Clare. Restoring native forests is a vital part of supporting a regenerative ecosystem. All trees planted are protected and live out their natural life.

“Our work is to establish and conserve permanent native woodland in Ireland, encouraging land regeneration and biodiversity through afforestation, restoration and education. Our core value is stewardship. Through education and supporting increased awareness and consideration of Ireland’s natural environment, we hope to nourish a new way of relating to nature conservation and rehabilitation.”

NDN COLLECTIVE: INDIGENOUS POWER & CLIMATE JUSTICE

NDN Collective is an Indigenous-led organization dedicated to building Indigenous power. They’re an all-Indigenous team of grassroots organizers, practitioners, community builders, and media-based strategists from diverse Nations throughout Turtle Island, creating sustainable solutions on Indigenous terms.

Their Climate Justice Campaign builds power throughout Indigenous communities in order to tackle the climate crisis. They run and support campaigns aimed at ending extraction, contamination, and violence in Indigenous territories. They advance policy changes, coalition building, and advocacy, while supporting the solutions-based work happening across Indigenous nations that utilizes traditional ecological knowledge.
